Center Parcs in Longford are launching a recruitment information day next week which will see 100 new permanent jobs for the local community.

Positions at the new holiday resort will be in retail, housekeepers, leisure, hospitality and catering.

Next Friday Enterprise Minister Heather Humphries will launch a recruitment information days at Longford Rugby Club from 9.30am - 7pm and Saturday 13th from 10am to 4pm.

Those interested in finding out what it's like to work for Center Parcs are invited along for an informal chat. Hopefuls will not need to bring anything along.

Daragh Feighery a Center Parcs spokesman said: "Most of our employees live locally so we are expecting great interest in the roles."

Earlier this year Martin Dalby, a Centre Parcs chief said they will be taking booking as early as January. 

He said: "If you dropped a pin into the centre of Ireland on a map, it would probably land right here. It’s easily accessible from any part of the country."

"It’s a short-break holiday, so we’ll sell it Friday through Monday - which is a long weekend - or we’ll sell it Monday through to Friday for a midweek stay."

Centre Parcs is due to open next summer with over 100 indoor and outdoor activities to suit the whole family.

Outdoor activities include stand-up paddle boarding, adventure golf, geocache, tennis, falconry, kayak hire and raft building. 

Indoor activities at the new holiday resort will include sensory play, bowling, indoor climbing wall, chocolate chefs academy and fencing.
It will boast Ireland's biggest ever waterpark, the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and anyone who stays at the resort will get unlimited access to the 29.5C facility. it will include a wave pool, wild water rapids, slides, whirlpools, and a children's area. 

Over 400 acres of majestic woodlands, accommodation includes 470 open plan wooden lodges and 30 apartments which can sleep four, six or eight guests.
