Six Year Old Girl Shares Profound Marriage Advice

Who knew that a six year old girl could offer such profound marriage advice.

The last couple of months have been challenging for all families. Routines have gone out the window and our homes have morphed in to some kind of play center/school/office hybrid. For a lot of people it has taken it's toll on their relationships. For some couples more stress and pressure can lead to an increase in disagreements. Couple that with cabin-fever and health anxiety and it's the perfect storm for conflict. Well, one little girl has the marriage advice that we all need to hear.

This video has been doing the rounds for quite some time now but we think it is the perfect time to introduce you to... our marriage counsellor. We are amazed by the level of wisdom that a six year old girl can display. Her advice and thoughts about marriage are profound and really made us think.

In the below video you will see the adorable little girl giving marriage advice to her mother. The video was apparently captured after she witnessed a disagreement between her parents. It compelled her to talk some sense in to them with her insightful marriage advice, and we think the child is a genius.

The video starts with the little girl asking her mum if she is ready to be her husband's friend again. Her tone is assertive and authoritarian which makes it especially entertaining. She begins by suggesting that her parents shouldn't strive to be "that high up " as friends. Instead she makes it clear that she wants "everything to be low". The gesture suggests that she wants things to be calm rather than super high (and perhaps super low).

She goes on to talk about her fears regarding her parents being "replaced" and proclaims that what she really wants is for her mum and dad to be

"placed and settled and be friends".

She reminds her mother that she is not trying to be mean or a bully and that she just really wants everyone to be friends.

"and if I can be nice, I think all of us can be nice too"

As the little girl delivers her advice she repeatedly ensures that her mother does not think that she is being unfair. She tries to explain that she is coming from a calm and level headed place

"trying to be steady. On the floor. Not way down. On the middle where my heart is"

Her words remind us that we should all try to come from that place a little more often as arguments and disagreements are usually about unimportant trivial things and rarely on a heart level.

The final words of the viral video are perhaps the most profound of all. The little girl expresses that what she is asking for is very simple and that she just wants

"everything to be settled down. Nothing else. I just want everything to be as good as possible. Nothing else"
