Cocoon Tunes Bring Joy To Elderly

This made us smile from ear to ear. Music is a powerful force. It can change your mood in an instant and provide comfort and healing. Just look at the joy on the faces of these elderly residents from Anam Cara nursing home.

Near FM sent them some brightly coloured earphones to enjoy their "cocoon tunes" segment. It really is the little things! Cocoon Tunes happens Every Thursday from 3.30 – 4.30pm with Madeleine Ebbs (Dublin City Council) and Near FM’s Michael Sullivan.

"The idea is to try include a lot of older people who perhaps don’t have access to modern technology with a radio programme for those who are cocooning, with music from the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. You can send your requests to [email protected], text 087 6944599 or phone 01 8671190 "

Cocooning Father Makes House Replica Using A Shoe Box

This wonderful news comes from Susan Keogh who might just be the proudest daughter in Ireland. While cocooning, her father (86) created a replica of his own home using a shoe box. Isn't it just incredible? In Susan's words

" My cute little Dad (84) made this replica of their house out of a shoebox while he’s been cocooning during #COVID19 I’m not able for him at all "
