It's Time To Get Spooky! Your Family Will Love These New Halloween Picks

That October chill has well and truly settled in, so you know what that means... Halloween!

Yes, October is here and there are 31 jam-packed days to get ourselves ready for our monster mash at the end of the month (and before all of the Christmas decorations start making their way into our lives - gulp). If you're looking to ease you and your family into the ghoulish festivities this year, there are lots of new Halloween picks arriving on demand and in cinemas.

Here's a rundown of the most frighteningly good movies and TV shows hitting our screens for the month ahead.

'Scaredy Cats' | Netflix (Out Now)

'Scaredy Cats' sounds like most of us watching a horror movie - but this one is definitely for children. The series sees a 12-year-old girl Willa Ward receive a "purr-fect" gift sees her be thrown into a world of witchcraft, talking animals and a battle of good versus evil alongside her best friends.

'LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales' | Disney+ (Out Now)

We LOVE a themed Halloween tale, especially when the characters from the world of 'LEGO Star Wars' are involved. 'Terrifying Tales' sees Poe and little cutie android BB-8 make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet of Mustafar, where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt. Enjoy three creepy stories linked to ancient artefacts and iconic villains from across all eras of the 'Star Wars' franchise.

'Nightbooks' | Netflix (Out Now)

A modern interpretation of Hansel & Gretel essentially, 'Nightbooks' sees Krysten Ritter star as a wicked witch who won’t allow a pair of children to leave her booby-trapped and fantastically magical apartment. They are tasked with telling the witch a scary story every night - but they've got a secret plan up their sleeves.

'Escape The Undertaker' | Netflix (Oct 5)

'Escape The Undertaker' is a brand new PG-rated Netflix interactive title that is sure to get pulses racing. This WWE-themed special will see The New Day wrestlers try to survive the supernatural surprises at The Undertaker's spooky mansion - and all you have to do is decide their fate. No pressure...!

'The Addams Family 2' | Cinemas (Oct 8)

Everyone's favourite spooky family returns to cinemas this October, arriving as one of the biggest Halloween picks on our list. Join creepy, spooky, mysterious and ooky mother and father Morticia and Gomez as they decide it's time to leave their ominous mansion behind them and take the whole family on an adventurous road trip. A trip to the cinema will be the perfect thing for your little monsters this midterm.

'Muppets Haunted Mansion' | Disney+ (Oct 8)

We've yet to meet someone who didn't like The Muppets and the chaotic puppets are back for their first-ever Halloween adventure. In this star-studded special event, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, Kermit and the whole gang will be telling a spooky tale from the depths of a haunted mansion (there's certainly an occurring theme in this year's new releases). Expect laughs and frights galore with this one.

'Just Beyond' | Disney+ (Oct 13)

This one is for the slightly older members of the household (or for young ones who think they are brave enough!). 'Just Beyond' is an anthology series inspired by 'Goosebumps' writer R.L. Stine's series of graphic novels. Each episode introduces viewers to characters who must go on a surprising journey of self-discovery in a supernatural world of witches, aliens, ghosts and parallel universes.

'Monster Family 2' | NOW & Sky (Oct 22)

The Wishbones are back! To free Baba Yaga and Renfield from the clutches of evil Monster Hunter Mila Starr, the Wishbone Family once more transforms into a Vampire, Frankenstein’s Monster, a Mummy and a Werewolf to save the day all over again.
