Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About How Her Miscarriage "Transformed" Her

The model and TV personality spoke openly on The Ellen Show of how she dealt with losing her son Jack prematurely.

Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend lost their son, Jack, after just 20 weeks of pregnancy. The incident happened last September.

In order to raise awareness of a situation that many families face each day, Teigen posted a number of heartbreaking photos of the time on social media. She captioned her post with: "But everyday can’t be full of sunshine.  On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it."

Now, four months later, speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show, Teigen spoke of how she is "still coming to terms with" her loss. This would have been the week that Jack was due to be born.

"Looking at those pictures now, it seems like so long ago. And also, of course, everything was such a blur. Even thinking back to it now, I am still in therapy about it and I’m still coming to terms with it in a way," Chrissy confessed.

"I have maternity clothes, and there are things that I bought for my eighth month and my ninth month," she continues. "So it's just hard because he would've been born this week, so you look at those things and you have these constant reminders of them.

"Being raised in a house that was very open about loss, I think it was really helpful because I really see it as it can be a beautiful thing and it was a really transformative thing for me in a way. It really saved me because I don't think that I would have discovered therapy and sobriety and this path of really feeling good about myself and feeling like a good person."

As well as talking about this important moment in her life, Chrissy Teigen also spoke about more trivial matters. Topics such as how weird she finds her feet look, and how she accidentally ruined her husband's surprise appearance at Joe Biden's inauguration, were covered in her interview.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have two children, four-year-old Luna and two-year-old Miles.
