Easy ways to become a more chilled out mama

Being a mammy isn’t always the easiest and if you are struggling with the challenges you aren’t the only one I promise you!

Being a mammy isn’t always the easiest and if you are struggling with the challenges you aren’t the only one I promise you! Between the kids and trying to get everything done being a mammy will stress you out at times. However, there are some ways you can be a little more chilled out and happier thus. Here we have listed a few things and tips to help you along the way…
  • Be organised- Being organised will help you manage family life and therefore be calmer and happier as a result. You should plan the weekly schedule of appointments, make meals ahead of time and keep on top of the ironing or washing as much as you can. Letting things build up will place you under more pressure leaving you frazzled and stressed. Consider getting a cleaner if you can afford one to help with the family chores to give you some extra time.
  • Socialise- Seeing your friends regularly will give you a better sense of self-worth and your levels of happiness sore through spending time with friends. It may only be lunch once and a while but having something to look forward to will keep you upbeat.
  • Ask for help- One of the things a mother hates to do is to ask for help and it should become a habit. Asking for help doesn’t mean you are weak or unable but rather you notice that you need some extra help. Get family on board and send the kids to grandparents now and again. It is good for the kiddies to spend time with their extended family and good for you too!
  • Take time for you as often as you can- Take a hot bath every few evenings or go for a walk. Take up a hobby and keep to it even when you are exhausted and would rather stay home. Time for you is vital to your mental health and well-being.
  • Work with your partner- You and your partner should be on the same page and help each other with the care of your children and the household chores. Though you may feel you shouldn’t hassle your partner a problem shared is a problem halved. Together you can be great and keeping connected is vital so you can parent your children well.
  • Encourage your kids to behave well- All kids will be bold now and again but you should encourage them to behave well. Be consistent with discipline and let the kids know that you won’t let them do as they want, when they want. If your children are taught how to behave well it will allow you to do things when you are busy and you will trust them to do as what is expected of them.
  • Smile and laugh often- Laughing is the best medicine and having fun is vital to keeping you happy and calmer. Smile and enjoy life, sure, it is busy and mayhem usually ensues but I bet you wouldn’t have it any other way!
