5 'mom hacks' that are so simple yet brilliant

Share any others that you might have. We would love to hear them

I love a good Mum Hack. Tips and tricks that make day to day life easier. Anything that saves me time and my sanity is worth sharing.
Here are some of my favourite Mum Hacks and I hope they will soon be yours too.
  • Sandwich Bags. I bring them everywhere. There are always two in my bag whether it's my baby bag, toddler's bag or change bag. They have so many uses. They're brilliant for putting wet clothes in and great for bringing a “doggy bag” home if you are out and about and your child doesn't finish their lunch. Bring it home and save yourself the bother of preparing a snack later that day.
  • Dry your clothes faster by putting a dry fluffy towel in to the dryer for the first fifteen minutes of the dry cycle. The towel will take a huge amount of the moisture out of the clothes and will save you a lot of time.
  • Keep a large rectangle laundry basket in the boot of your car. It makes trips from the car to the house a lot easier. Load up the food shopping, your toddlers bag, your phone & the random toys in one go. It will save you three trips out to the car.
  • Pack school lunches while you are making dinner rather than hours later when the kids go to bed or during the morning rush. It makes sense. You have your chopping boards and prep material to hand which saves you doing two lots of washing up. The fruit bowl is right beside you and you are in the food prep zone anyway. It means when the kitchen is “closed”, it really is closed.
  • The kids have finally gone to bed and you want to light your fancy candle but can't find long matches. Did you know that Spagetti (pasta) does the very same thing? Simply light the end of it using the gas cooker and then treat it like a match stick to light hard to reach candle wicks.
