Everything You Need To Know About Interior Design Trends

Even if you're on a strict budget, you can still incorporate these interior design trends into your home in some shape or form.

It can be easy to bring your home into trendy design by the addition of some little materials, colours or furnishings/ornaments. In fact, if you are on a tight budget it can be the perfect solution to making your home that bit trendier and cooler.

Here is everything you need to know about interior design trends that are hot right now.

Velvet is the material of the moment and it is perfect for adding some luxury to your home with velvet cushions or throws in your living area. Luckily, there are several coloured velvet cushions on the market that appeal to any budget and for the added soft feel, these cushions or throws are a winner.

Scalloped chairs

A favourite in the office. Sinking into one of those stylish chairs is a lovely way to read a book and relax. They come in lots of colours and styles too and you don’t need to invest in too many as even one in a good position in a room can make all the difference – though you might have to fight for your chair! There are shell-like ones to choose from that are curved and cosy. Clam ones are great for those who love sea-themed stuff

Floral

Still the design of the year and everywhere you look, you’ll see floral designs from bed covers to wallpaper and art paintings. Wallpaper is certainly making a comeback and most people are using stylishly designed wallpaper to create a ‘statement wall’ in a room alongside natural coloured walls.

Gold and copper metallics

These are everywhere now and lighting solutions are one metallic addition you could make to your home. Candle-holders, potpourri bowls or vases are other metallic options and it is easy to pop them into the room of your choice to brighten it up.

Natural wood

Natural wood is going to be even bigger as we move throughout the year and it works well against white or beige, but it can be nice next to teal or green too. Think natural wood finishes, wood furniture or wooden accessories. Furthermore, the use of stone and granite is popular too and it is nice to balance natural features with bright lighting and warm throws and rugs.

Art pieces

These are as popular as ever and depending on your budget and preference you could invest in something spectacular! Supporting local artists is a nice idea, especially if you like their style or you may prefer contemporary art instead.

Mirrors

Mirrors play a big part in making a room look bigger and better. Luckily, there are several types of mirrors on the market, so the choice is amazing to suit everyone. Adding them to the hallway or a living room is a great idea.

Soft furnishings

Another thing to factor in. While we have mentioned chairs, rugs and velvet, there is nothing nicer than livening up a room with a good mix of materials and soft furnishings. Think of stylish patterned mats, soft and cosy throws to add to chairs and luxurious oversized cushions.  Have fun with your interiors
