Things From Our Childhood Our Kids Won't Understand!

There are just some things in life we'll never forget... but they're also the things our kids will probably never understand!

There are just some things in life we'll never forget... but they're also the things our kids will probably never understand!
One of those things is our childhood. They will never understand some things we used to do when growing up.
Our lives are vastly different with such ease of technology and the reluctance of many children to enjoy their childhood to the fullest.
It got us thinking... what were the things we used to do that our kids will never understand, or will probably think we're all cracked?
Here's some of the things we had growing up and make sure to let us know if we have left anything out!
  • TV - it was only ever RTE 1 or Network 2, there was nothing else and you certainly couldn't pause the TV when you were heading for dinner.
  • Telephones - Household phones meant sitting in your hall, freezing your butt off to make a call becuase of that darn cord, cordless phones changed us.
  • Walkman  - we mean, do they even know what a discman is, let alone a walkman?
  • Fancy Paper - between swapping it and collecting it, it was both a source of joy and endless fights with your sister!
  • Dial Up - yes we had to wait for an eternity to connect to the internet and don't even get us started on our dedication to uploading photos to our MySpace on that thing.
  • Apple Trees - If you didn't rob apples from the apple trees in someones garden did you even a childhood?
  • School Milkman - yes, they delivered cartons of milk to school instead of juice. And it was not cold. And it wasn't always nice. But you got what you were given!
  • Bosco - a national treasure.
  • Curbs - endless entertainment during the summer of beating a ball against a curb.
  • Pogs - if anyone in school tried to steal your pog!
  • Disposable Cameras - imagine explaining to your child that you had to wait a week to get the photos and you had no idea what they were going to look like? We won't even mention 'film'.
  • Penny Sweets - anyone for a mix bag? 10p would get you the best bag of penney sweets you'd ever have. Also - the poor shop owner who had to fill those bags!
  • House - hands up who created a house out of the freshly cut grass in the fields?
