Five-Minute Makeup For Mums

Unfortunately, us mums don’t get much time to ourselves and there are days when hair and makeup are the last priority (for good reason). A hun bun and sunglasses are often the best option when we’ve had no time to wash our hair or fix the dark circles around our eyes.

That’s why, if we get five minutes to get ready (alone) we need to be prepared. And so, here are some time-saving tips for five-minute makeup all mums can get behind.

Foundation

Multi-tasking products are your best friend when you need to be quick, so if you can find a product that hydrates, blurs imperfections and includes SPF, you’re onto a winner. You may not have time for tools when the turnaround is this quick, so your fingers are your next best option. Simply dot it around your face and then rub it in evenly.

Concealer

Concealer has to be our hero product when we’re suffering from a lack of sleep, as it will banish dark circles and make you look fresh (even if you don’t feel it). Choose one that is slightly lighter than your skin tone and dab it gently around the inner corner of your eyes.

Bronzer

Another must-have multitasker is bronzer. Apply it with a large brush to the top of your cheekbones, across your nose and forehead, and then finally sweep some over your eyelids in place of eyeshadow. We love any tip that involves saving time and money!

Eyebrows

When we were teenagers all we cared about was making our eyebrows as thin as possible, now it’s the opposite! If you want to look groomed with minimal fuss, brush them into place and fill in any gaps, the pencil and brush often come as one product which is handy!

Mascara

Some of us prefer length, some of us prefer volume, but whatever your preference, by applying mascara to your top lashes you’ll look instantly more eye-catching.

Lip Gloss

Last but not least, slick on a hydrating lip gloss that will provide colour and moisture - "ta-dah", you’re all set!

Do your future self a favour and put all the products you’ve used into your own compact makeup bag that has helped countless mums. You can then grab it whenever you get a chance, and you won’t waste time rummaging around trying to find your favourites.

Don’t forget, you’re not trying to contour yourself into a Kardashian, you simply want to look awake, fresh, and ready for whatever the day throws at you.
