The Summer Holidays Are Finally Here- Bet You're Excited About These Possibilities
Fortunately once you get to the toddler stage if you relax their bed time in the evening when you’re on hols there’s a good chance you’ll get an extra hour or so in bed – bliss. Rather than the daily panic of everyone eating as quickly as possible whilst trying to make a minimal amount of mess you can all enjoy a long lazy breakfast of whatever you fancy. Pancakes, eggs and croissants make it the best meal of the day. With no need for uniforms and warm temperatures (fingers crossed) you can all throw on your comfiest casual clothing, sandals and shades.
Whether you’re off to the beach or simply filling up the paddling pool and opening up the sand pit, water and sandcastles are a winning combination. When they need to dry off get out some outdoor games and enjoy some healthy competition. From skittles to soft tennis the adults will have as much fun as the kids. When it’s time for refreshments quench everyone’s thirst with freshly squeezed orange juice and tantalise their tastebuds with some summer berries.
Family walks are a great way to get some exercise, to have a chat and do some exploring. Even better get out your bikes (or hire some) and go for a cycle to get some fresh air. Make sure you conveniently hit a café on your route for ice cream for the kids and iced coffees for the adults. You’ll have earned it after using up all that energy.
The smell of a barbecue is enough to put anyone in a good mood. Kids love the opportunity to eat burgers and sausages to their hearts delight and barbecued bananas are a delicious dessert. Once the children are safely tucked up in bed you can enjoy a couple of glasses of wine, luxuriating in the knowledge that there’s no work or school in the morning.
