8 things I never predicted about parenthood!

Everyone told me that motherhood was full of surprises and they are right. Here are my top 7.

Everyone told me that motherhood was full of surprises and they are right. Here are my top 7.
  • That I will be forced to hold my pee for hours (despite making several visits with others to the bathroom) because it seems too much to try and figure out how to put my baby down and pee too.
  • That a child waking for the day at 6am is actually considered 'sleeping through the night'.
  • That I will actually attempt to answer questions like: Where do thoughts come from? Does fire kill germs?  Do germs have moms? What does Santa smell like? Are there dinosaurs in heaven?
  • That I will pay for entire session of swimming lessons and my daughter will not place one toe in the water.
  • That siblings will  argue about absolutely anything. Like who gets to go first, even though they can’t remember first for what.
  • That I now own  a full collection of colourful tubberware or similar type plastic holders.
  • That I would refer to my spouse as “daddy” more frequently than I call him by name.
  • That children will have a preference between their toast being cut in half, quarters or triangles. Whichever they like is not what I have done.
