11 Signs You Like To Be In Control Of Everything

If the saying ‘if you want something done right, you’re better off doing it yourself’, is a mantra you tell yourself every day you might be a bit of a control freak!

If the saying ‘if you want something done right, you’re better off doing it yourself’, is a mantra you tell yourself every day you might be a bit of a control freak!
As parents, we have so many balls up in the air that it is important we stay in control so that we can stay on top of it all.
However, some of us take the whole idea of being in control to a whole new level without actually realising it.
For instance, do you ask your kids to do something but then hover around them making sure they are doing it right?
Or do you go mad if someone doesn’t follow your instructions to a tee - like how to stack the cups in the press…?
Still not convinced you're a control freak? See how many of the below you relate to and let us know at the end!
  • You ask the kids to hang the washing out but stand over them directing them where to put the clothes
  • You only like your tea a certain way
  • You cook all the meals because you can’t bear the thoughts of someone messing up your kitchen.
  • You have instructions on how to fill (and empty) the dishwasher.
  • You like to be in full control of your child’s activities and won’t delegate the job out to your partner
  • You have a tight schedule that no one is allowed to mess with
  • You have to have the last word in every argument
  • And no way are you ever wrong in an argument
  • You hate when things don’t go according to your plan
  • The very thoughts of your kids baking in your kitchen makes you come out in a rash
  • You’d prefer to do your child’s project for them so it’s up to your standard
