These Are The Top 10 Toy Predictions This Christmas

Christmas may feel like months away, but the countdown is well and truly on with less than 100 days to go until the big day. This year, like every year, toy shops across the globe try to predict the toys that will feature on every child's wishlist, and this year is no different

If you're looking to get ahead of the game and start shopping early, here are some of the top toy predictions for Christmas 2020. Remember, shop around by using sites like PriceSpy to compare prices before you splash your cash.

Little Live Gotta Go Flamingo

This pricey little yoke looks ridiculous but is guaranteed to have you all in a fit of giggles over the holidays. Sherbet is a 31cm high interactive pooping pink Flamingo that does his business on the toilet once fed. He wobbles, wiggles, sings a catchy song, and has a record and repeat function. He will set you back around forty quid this Christmas.

L.O.L Surprise! Remix Super Surprise

The unboxing trend continues to dominate the decade as an array of L.O.L Surprise toys with hidden layers of packaging hits the shelves. The top-selling toy brand's wooden multi-story house with 85 surprises is rumoured to be at the top of every child's list. However, the O.M.G. Remix Super Surprise is already proving hard to get, so if it's on your child's list make sure you pre-order it now.

"The Child" Animatronic Edition

Better known as Baby Yoda from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, "The Child" is a cute little creature that will liven up any home. He comes with over 24 sound and motion combinations, including excited giggles and babbles. His head, ears, arms and eyes all move, and it comes with a removable Mandalorian pendant necklace. Most good toy stores are currently awaiting stock for what will be a must-have toy this Christmas.

Hatchimals Pixies Crystal Flyers

These 25cm pixies are a disaster waiting to happen. Take that from a mother of five who has had many of these flying fairy type-things over the years. Nevertheless, the kids love them, and they do come with an auto-stop feature, meaning they stop just after someone gets a good auld whack in the head with one.

Barbie Fashionista Doll

These I'm digging. Barbie is finally celebrating diversity and is promoting real-world expectations for young girls and boys when it comes to skin, hair and even body types with her new range of dolls. The latest incarnation of Barbie comes in nine different skin tones, multiple body types, 11 hair colours, 12 hairstyles, seven eye colours, and includes on-trend fashion and accessories. Prices start from as little as €12.99 in all good toy shops.

Paw Patrol Dino Rescue Dino Patroller

Just what we needed in our lives - a small kids toy that launches missiles. And not only one, but two of them. The new patroller is their first-motorised team vehicle and comes with a large-scale T-Rex and the exclusive Chase collectable figure. Batteries are included with the large-wheeled truck, and there is room for all six pups but, unfortunately, the others don't come as part of the set.

Cabbage Patch Kid

Who would have thought a Cabbage Patch Kid would be a toy for Christmas 2020? Yes, that's right, one of the biggest toy crazes in history is coming back with a bang and will be sporting an updated wardrobe with styles to fit 21st-century parents - I mean, kids. The doll will still have the same look, feel and snuggle ability as the much-loved original. Let's hope the littles love her just as much as we once did.

Fifi The Flossing Sloth

Just to be clear, flossing is dancing, and it's one of the most iconic dances of the decade. Fifi is set to be a star buy this Christmas with her hilarious flossing movements, adorable blinking eyes, and she wiggles her butt to three epic songs in a bid to get everyone up and dancing.

Peppa's Clever Car

Love her or hate her, no top-selling toy list is complete without Peppa and crew. This year she's got her own set of wheels, and it even moves on smooth surfaces. The car itself is equipped with obstacle avoidance technology and working headlights. One of this year's top toys for Christmas has over 25 character phrases while also helping teach colour matching.

LEGO Super Mario Adventures

And for our LEGO lovers, this year the Mario Starter course is predicted to be one of the hottest building sets. The set features seven action bricks for different interactions with the LEGO Mario figure. Mario itself has a colour sensor and LCD screens in his eyes, mouth and belly, which displays over 100 different reactions to movement. He also has a speaker that plays sounds from the iconic video game. Iconic.
