The National Christmas Jumper Day Is Back For 2020

National Christmas Jumper Day for sick children in CHI at Crumlin returns for the festive season.

It's only the first week of November and we've already heard Christmas whispered more than a normal amount of times. But hey, we might as well embrace it and get into the swing of things. We're already trying to plan which sweater we'll be wearing on Christmas Jumper Day 2020.

Launched today by Rob Kearney, Ex-Ireland rugby player and ambassador for Children's Health Foundation Crumlin, the national event will be taking place on Friday, December 11.

Christmas is coming and we’re calling on all teachers, students, clubs, groups and families to take part in National Christmas Jumper Day on 11th December. This is your chance to put on your favourite Christmas jumpers and do something really special for Ireland’s little patients. It is so simple and easy to do - it doesn’t matter if you are in the classroom or some of your group are staying safe at home, everybody can join in. All you need to do is to put on your Christmas jumper and let the festive fun begin. Over 150,000 children go through the doors of CHI at Crumlin every year. Will you do #WhateverItTakes to help raise vital funds for those children who will spend Christmas in hospital this year? This year more than ever we need your support. If you've never been a part of the charity event before, the concept is simple - wear a festive jumper on the day while contributing your bit to help the children's charity. Whether you'll be working from home, or out and about, it's an easy thing to do in order to help a child in need.

Over 150,000 children go through the doors of CHI at Crumlin every year, and unfortunately, some will be there over this Christmas period once again. To help raise vital funds for those children, here's how you can get involved.

To register and receive your free goodie pack, head over to the dedicated National Christmas Jumper Day website by clicking here. Anyone signing up to take part in this year's event will receive the welcome pack.

Rob Kearney said of the initiative's launch today: "Hopefully I can encourage as many of you as possible to raise vital funds for sick children. Childhood illness takes too many precious moments of laughter, play and happiness. Christmas should be a special time for them no matter where they are. I’m calling on everyone across Ireland to join me, and host a Christmas Jumper Day, so that we can create some magical memories for sick children this Christmas."
