Irish Cancer Society To Hold Digital Daffodil Day

You can get involved in Digital Daffodil Day by hosting your own digital coffee morning or making a donation at cancer.ie.

In response to the Irish Cancer Society's biggest fundraising event of the year being cancelled, Twitter and Rothco Accenture Interactive have teamed up to launch the very first #DigitialDaffodilDay.

CEO of the Irish Cancer Society, Averil Power said,

“The cancellation of Daffodil Day, our single biggest fundraiser, sparked an outpouring of support from people and communities across Ireland which we are so grateful for.

Both companies offered their extensive talent and resources to develop a Digital Daffodil Day as a way to help people to continue to donate to help provide support and services for people affected by cancer."

Averil also stated that she and her colleagues had been so focused on helping to support cancer patients and their families at this worrying time that they hadn't even begun to think about how they could make up the funds lost with the unprecedented cancellation of Daffodil Day.

Twitter Dublin hosted a virtual coffee morning to raise the much-needed funds while Rothco Accenture Interactive launched the Digital Daffodil Day campaign and spread the word online.

This is a fantastic way to support vulnerable members of our society at this uncertain and scary time for many.

To make a donation, all you have to do is visit cancer.ie. According to the Irish Cancer Society website, "your donation will directly support our Night Nurses, as well as provide free care and support for cancer patients and their loved ones across Ireland."
