These Pizza Rolls Make The Perfect Hidden Veg Dish

What is better than homemade pizza rolls?

The Daly Dish is an Instagram page that a lot of people turn to to find delicious family recipes that they can whip up without much effort. The culinary talents of the Dalys have been passed on to their daughter Holly who creates fun and easy recipes on her Instagram page, @the.littledish (managed by her mum and dad).

The aim of the page is to encourage kids to try new things and help out in the kitchen, and we think a lot of kids out there would be only delighted to try these delicious pizza rolls.

We tried these ourselves and we have to say, the smell alone is out of this world, and they can be adapted so easily for your own family's tastes. Plus, if you have some fussy eaters at home or if you simply want to give the recipe an extra healthy twist, you could easily blend in some veg to the passata sauce. Our mouths are watering just writing this!

All you need is:

  • Puff pastry
  • Passata
  • Cheese
  • Ham (but you can use any toppings you like!)

Holly recommends adding a little BBQ sauce in with your tomato sauce to give it a little extra kick.

To get started, spread your tomato base on to the rolled out puff pastry. Once your sauce is on the pastry, Holly recommends adding some herbs to give it an "Italiano" taste. (Seriously, how cute is she?)

Then, simply add your cheese and whatever toppings you like. You can then use baking paper to roll the puff pastry and cut into sections. Turn them on their sides and pop them in the oven for 15 minutes at 200 degrees.

The result? Quick, easy, delicious and healthy pizza rolls the whole family will love! Ideal for summertime served with a side salad and some chips. Yum.

Will you be giving this recipe a go?
