Cookie Fries Are The Latest Baking Craze

Disney have been making plant based cookie fries in their theme parks for quite a while and have recently released their recipe.

The year 2020 will forever be known as the year of the baked goods. During this time of quarantine and social distancing homes across the world have been trying a variety of recipes as a fun family activity. Baking keeps the kids preoccupied and everyone gets to enjoy a treat together afterwards so it's a win win.

We are fans of a baked good around these parts and have been whipping up some two ingredient brownies and amazing banana bread for weeks now. We're a little unsure about the latest baking craze though. Let us introduce you to cookie fries. We had no idea that these were a thing.

So what exactly are they? Well, they're cookies that are in the shape of fries. We're a little unsure about the whole thing but thousands of people are completely nuts about them. Disney have been making plant based cookie fries in their theme parks for quite a while and have recently released their recipe so that they can be enjoyed as a baking project at home. The announcement was met with huge excitement and people have been trying to recreate their favourite Disney treat at home.

According to Disney these cookie fries are the perfect way to end a meal. They're a popular dessert choice in their Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

" The plant-based cookie fries are unique and yummy treat to end your meal with. Similar to biscotti, these chocolate chip cookie sticks come with several plant-based dipping sauces: marshmallow cream, chocolate, and strawberry. They’re so good "

While the Disney recipe is plant-based you can play around with the recipe and substitute some of the ingredients for dairy versions. Home bakers are having a lot of fun with this recipe playing around with the ingredients, dipping sauces and the shape of the "fries". We've even seen some crinkle cut cookie fries with sprinkles!

Are you going to try the latest baking craze? The Disney recipe can be found here.
