5 Quick Breakfast Ideas That The Kids Will Love

Some of these could be used for the lunchbox too!

Perhaps, like me, you find yourself bored with the same old breakfasts every day.

You might be interested in shaking things up to add some variety to the family diet. Or maybe you're trying to encourage the kids to broaden their horizons when it comes to the food they eat.  Here are five quick breakfast ideas that look (and taste) the part without involving much effort from you.

Chocolate Weetabix

Add one Weetabix to a bowl with some milk and ping in the microwave for 10 seconds. Add a chopped banana and a drizzle of natural chocolate syrup (we love the Sweet Freedom brand. No nasties and the kids love it because it's chocolate).

Veg-packed Super Smoothie

Throw a banana, some ice, honey, berries, a handful of Spinach and a cup of Oats to Nutri bullet, food processor or smoothie maker. Blitz until smooth and enjoy with a straw. This nutrient-packed smoothie is full of goodness, filling due to the slow releasing carbohydrate (porridge oats) and the kids will be unaware of the Spinach as it's simply a sweet-tasting fruity drink from their perspective.

Greek Yoghurt Breakfast Bars

Lay some grease-proof paper on to a tray and pour a pot of Greek yoghurt on top. Spread out thinly and add some granola, nuts or plain porridge oats, dash of honey or syrup and berries of your choice. Place in the freezer and in the morning break up into larger pieces of this delicious and healthy breakfast bark.

Banana Split

Split a banana in half and fill the middle with yoghurt, granola, berries or fruit of your choice. Drizzle with maple syrup. Healthy dessert for breakfast!

Unicorn Toast

Toast some wholemeal bread and add some sprinkles after you've buttered it. It's only a little and this one can be a little treat that encourages the kids to eat wholemeal!
