These adventure-filled books are sure to capture your child's imagination.
It can be difficult to get your energetic, outdoor-loving kids to sit down for a few minutes and read. They would of course, rather be outside somewhere making their newest discovery or on some rigorous adventure with their friends.
But what if they could find that sense of fun and adventure between the pages of a book?

Here are five of our favourite fun books filled to the brim with adventure!
THE WAY TO TREASURE ISLAND written by LIZZY STEWART
Matilda and her dad love each other, but they could not be more different. She is fast while he is very slow, she is tidy while he is messy. In this story, they are off on an adventure to find Treasure Island, but will they ever get there if Dad keeps getting distracted by anything and everything? This is a fun, adventure-filled story that teaches kids to look past differences in search of fun.
THE DRAGON IN THE LIBRARY written by LOUIE STOWELL illustrated by DAVIDE ORTU
What could be more exciting (or terrifying) than finding a dragon in the library? Well, that's exactly what happens to Kit. She thinks reading is incredibly boring and would much rather be outside playing. But when her friends take her to the library one day, she realizes books are far from boring...
SAM WU IS NOT AFRAID OF SPIDERS written by KATIE and KEVIN TSANG illustrated by NATHAN REED
Sometimes the biggest adventure of all is the one you take to face your fears. Sam Wu is super cool and brave, and he's afraid of absolutely nothing - except maybe spiders. When Tulip, the school's pet tarantula escapes from her cage one day, Sam is totally, completely, not worried at all. This is a hilarious book that shows kids that it's okay to be afraid, and real bravery comes from being afraid and facing your fears anyway.
ONCE UPON A WILD WOOD written by CHRIS RIDDELL
This is a gorgeous take on the fairy tale genre, filled with all of our favourite familiar characters from Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, among others. When Little Green Raincape sets off to Rapunzel's party deep in the woods, the way is not as easy as she may have expected.
SPANGLES MCNASTY AND THE DIAMOND SKULL written by STEVE WEBB illustrated by CHRIS MOULD
What could be more adventurous than pirates? These pirates are like nothing you've ever seen before - they like eating cold chips out of bins and farting in libraries. But when the sparkly Diamond Skull pirate hat comes to Bitterly Bay Museum, will they be able to get their hands on it without their plans being foiled?
Will you be giving any of these adventure-filled books a go?
