When I look back on my school days, it is with fondness that I recall the various schoolbags that each year brought.
Choosing a schoolbag was an experience in itself. We would head out for the afternoon, visit a couple of different shops and enjoy a treat of some kind at the end of it all.
I loved coming home and showcasing my new schoolbag to my Dad and siblings. It was so shiny and new (which naturally didn’t last very long) and proved to be a great way of building some excitement about returning to school for a fresh year.
These days, a huge amount of back-to-school shopping is done online. There are a huge amount of retailers to choose from and there is something to suit all tastes and price-points.
Here are some of the most unique schoolbags we’ve stumbled upon ourselves.
Sustainable Schoolbags Made From Discarded Bugaboo Travel Systems
I’m sorry, what?! This is pretty darn cool is you ask me. Little Boomerang is a company that takes pride in making eco-friendly products for children and their partnership with Bugaboo does just that. These high-quality schoolbags are made from the various materials that at one point formed a high-end stroller.
They are stylish to look at, practical in size and they teach children an important lesson about waste and sustainability. Unfortunately, these were a limited edition product but we would love to see other companies taking a leaf out of their book.
OK so we kind of love the idea of picking up a kid’s school bag at IKEA. Mostly because It gives us a reason to go to IKEA. It’s minimalistic, a great colour and perfect in terms of size and dimensions. This one costs €25!
We are huge fans of anything from Not On the Highstreet but these personalised bags are especially cute. Having your child’s name visible to others won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but if it’s yours this one will set you back about €30 including delivery.
Is anyone else’s child obsessed with everything from Smiggle? It’s a kid’s paradise when it comes to all things stationary. I’m including this because a trip to Smiggle is bound to put a smile on your child’s face. If your kid is in to gaming, they will adore this unique schoolbag.
