Need a little extra help? Here's everything you need to know about hiring a cleaner!

As a parent, myself I know spending time with family is more important than worrying about when the floors will be washed next

People are often wary of having someone they don't know in their home, sometimes it can be hard to even hard to ask for help. Never feel guilty or embarrassed for seeking help, housework can be overwhelming. Between school runs, after-school activities, homework, dinner and for some throw in fulltime work or a new baby. Somethings got to give.
As a parent, myself I know spending time with family is more important than worrying about when the floors will be washed next. Also if you think about it you are providing someone with employment.
  • One of the best ways to hire a cleaning service is through the referrals of friends. Ask around and see who comes highly recommended.
  • Before you hire your cleaner always make sure you find out all the essentials first. Do you bring cleaning supplies? How will you gain access to my home? What should I do with my dog? What services are included? How much do you charge, is there hidden fees?
  • It might take a few cleaners to find the right one. Most cleaners will know what needs to be done, however, if you are too specific about what you want to be done as they might not do other stuff that you haven’t even thought of. Explain to your cleaner that you might need different household chores done over the weeks, so that gives you the flexibility to swap and change.
  • Make an agreement that if you need the bedsheets changed or maybe clothes need ironing that you will leave them on the kitchen table. This way when she arrives they will know its a priority.
There are many pros and cons to all cleaning services you just need to find the one that best suits you, your budget and your cleaning needs. Think of the relief you will have when you realise you won't have to take out the hoover, scrub the toilet or change the bedsheets.
If your still uncomfortable with the idea of getting a cleaner and the budget is there why not invest it in your local laundrette. They even fold the clothes for you.
