Six Irish Food Delivery Companies You Need To Know About

If these Covid-induced lockdowns have taught us anything, it’s that the likelihood of us running out of tins of baked beans (or toilet roll, for that matter) is close to nil.

Irish mammies around the country have been in full "Wartime Wife Mode" alert since March and have stocked the pantries with tins as high as the ceiling, bumper bags of rice, pasta, and boxes of Weetabix.

As for those freezers... Well, extra ones were bought when the household one was deemed insufficient (and that was jammed with frozen goods). And if Mary down the road lived on her own, you rented a bit of freezer space from her for the 10 boxes of potato waffles that you couldn’t fit into your own.

While restaurants and cafes all across the country have closed their seating areas inside and out, the food delivery businesses have suddenly become the heroes of our communities.

Boxes of delicious delights, from breakfast to dessert goodies, are all available online, either as an addition to that (very well) stocked freezer or as a gift to someone you love. We are so here for it! Here are six of our favourites.

1. Good Morning Box

A really cute idea that allows you to have a yummy breakfast delivered! The boxes themselves are really colourful and the contents are just perfect – a little tea bag here, a cereal bar there, fruit, honey and little gifts. Vegan options are available too. See their full menu here.

2. Eatto

Get the freshest of meals delivered to your door to use straight away or to freeze. You can buy these delicious dinners individually or as part of a bundle and there is even a New Parents Care Package. Hurray! Here's their full range of products.

3. Sustainable Seafood Ireland

If you love to cook fish at home then check out SSI for next-day delivery of the freshest fish you can get your hands on. Niall and his team focus on domestic and wild-caught seafood as well as speciality smoked and cured items. And they carry the largest selection of oysters under one roof – fancy! Be sure to check their food delivery guidelines by visiting their website.

4. Sheridans Cheesemonger

I don’t know about you, but this pandemic will leave me half-cheese, half-human. The comfort of it all! If you would love a selection of amazing cheeses brought to your door, you can do no wrong with a delivery from Sheridans. They have everything your crackers have ever dreamed of (and they deliver crackers too!). Their full range of products can be viewed online.

5. 2210 Patisserie

The stunning occasion cakes from 2210 Patisserie are a firm favourite with Irish celebs and now Una delivers a selection of her brownies, blondies, cake jars and ‘Dotie’ bars all over Ireland too. They sell out pretty quickly each week so keep an eye on her website for the next delivery dates! Visit their website for the complete range.

6. Nosebag

This Irish food delivery company was primarily focused on supplying fresh foods to hotels, creches and restaurants pre-Covid. Now they deliver to homes too and are a firm favourite with busy parents. A Thanksgiving and Christmas menu has just been launched which is really good value for money! Head over to their webpage for more information.
