Dinners You Can Prepare In The Morning To Save Time

Dinners you can prepare ahead of time can be a gamechanger. It may feel strange to be cooking dinner before you have even had lunch but if you can get into the habit you will never look back.

When you have school runs and activities and different places to be in the afternoons you can often find yourself coming home to a house with tired and irritable children (and parents). On these days, reaching for something convenient for dinner feels like the best option.

Preparing dinner in the morning allows you to have something ready and nutritious as soon as you need it.

Here are some things to try:

Spaghetti Bolognese

Easy peasy. Make the Bolognese in the morning, whether you use meat or lentils or even Quorn you can prepare it in the morning and leave in the fridge. All you will have to do is pop some spaghetti or pasta on and heat up the Bolognese as needed.

Tacos

Similarly, you can prepare every aspect of this in the morning and just heat the tacos as needed. You can have your lettuce, tomatoes and cheese all ready in bowls and even make your salsa and guacamole all good to go in the fridge.

Fajitas

Similar to the tacos, cook your chicken, pepper and onion fillings ahead of time and prepare the rest of the filling and keep them in the fridge. Salsa, guac and sour cream go great with this dinner too.

Curry

Possibly one of the easiest to prepare ahead of time. You can cook the rice ahead of time making it super easy to heat up or pop into the microwave when you need it.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Bake some sweet potato in the oven and you can keep them in the fridge. The heat up really well and can be topped with almost anything. If you have any Bolognese leftovers or Chili con carne, they go perfectly on top. For a veggie option, you could make a bean salad to top it. All prepared in the morning but kept in the fridge all day.

Butternut Squash and Chickpea Tikka Masala

Just like the curry, this can be prepared in a pot and rice cooked in another, all in the morning. Keep them both in the fridge for the rest of the day and you are sorted for dinner time
