Stacey Solomon Inspires Mum With Her Breastfeeding Story

Not one to shy from speaking the truth, Stacey Solomon is being praised this week for sharing her honest account of breastfeeding on social media.

The Loose Woman presenter recently admitted that it wasn't long ago that she used to "dread" breastfeeding but now she can finally uncurl her toes as "it becomes easier and almost painless".

The 29-year-old star who welcomed her third son two months ago shared a beaming photo of herself breastfeeding her son Rex while reflecting on her journey.

She wrote: "There was a time, not so long ago, when I used to dread this."

"It’s so nice to uncurl my toes, not be fighting with shields or trying to soothe my bleeding nipples and actually get excited for the times that Rex wants to feed on me."

"I never managed to exclusively breastfeed. He has a bottle and boob, mostly boob before naps for comfort and that works for us!"

In the heartfelt post, Stacey then admits she put too much pressure on herself in the early days.

"I wanted to love it so badly and had imagined how easy, convenient and blissful it would be and it wasn’t any of those things," she wrote.  "I never believed anyone when they said it will become easier and almost painless eventually, but it has."

"I can't even remember when it changed. But 10 weeks in and it feels so much better. It feels like how I imagine it in the first place." The mum of three boys then goes on to remind mums to be kinder to themselves.

"If I could offer any advice, it would be what everyone told me," she said. "Fed is best and whatever works for you."

"Mummas you are incredible," she concluded.

Fans have since been thanking her for her honest message with one writing: "Awwww such a wonderful post. So important. You've articulated exactly how I felt."

"Wish there had been social media when I was struggling with feeding. Felt so alone. Your honesty is helping so many."

While another said: "So important for people to know that fed is best, especially if they are struggling."

A third wrote: "Aw, I'm so happy you've gotten to a stage where you're able to enjoy breastfeeding!"

"I had a difficult start with my two and like you, I can't remember when it changed just that one day I thought I'm enjoying this now and don't want it to end. Magical."
