7 times you cringe when your child copies you

Kids are natural copycats. It just becomes embarassing when they copy one of you less desirable behaviours

Do you ever notice your child doing or saying something bold and then get a shock realisation that all they’re doing is copying what they’ve seen you or your partner do???
Here’s some of the naughty habits that we might unwittingly pass on:
Licking the yogurt lid
This is simply a case of ‘waste not want not’. When there’s a dollop of yummy yogurt left on the lid it would be rude to waste it. We should probably have shown them to use a spoon to scrape it off though…
Proudly burping loudly
Might be funny when you’re sat in your own kitchen; less so if you’re all out for a posh dinner.
Road rage
While we manage to contain our urge to swear (out loud) there is sometimes no way you can stop yourself from shouting if another driver has caused you to slam on your brakes. Just remember that your youngster can’t be blamed when they join in.
Speaking with their mouth full
When a family get together for dinner at the end of the day it’s nice to let the conversation flow; problem is everyone’s also starving so we end up chomping and chatting at the same time. However, when grandma berates your little one for talking with their mouth full make sure you have their back.
Shouting at the TV
When there’s an important sporting event on everyone can get a bit loud; after all we’re simply showing our support. Just don’t be surprised if your toddler gets animated when Fireman Sam next gets a call out.
Blowing raspberries
Babies find it hilarious when we blow raspberries at them but once they get bigger and want to carry it on they could soak someone with their saliva.
Sticking their tongue out
It’s funny to stick out our tongues for photos sometimes but when they decide to do it when we’re telling them we have to leave the play centre it can turn you scarlet with embarrassment.
Sometimes they might even have good intentions, they’ve just misinterpreted what we’re doing…
I squealed when I noticed my toddler pulling the flowers off my pot plants the other day but after questioning him on it he said ‘that’s what you did!’ I had forgotten that he was watching me when I was deadheading them that morning oops.
