While seeing our heroes grow up before our eyes feels a little jarring, it’s still a memorable adventure that you and your little ones will appreciate.

The final, concluding part to DreamWorks Animation’s dragon-centred film series is a somewhat fitting end to a very strong series of animated features. Although definitely the weakest of the trilogy, ‘How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ is still stronger than a lot of other animated movies that have released in the last year. And that’ll be joy to hear for both adults and children alike.

Upon our return to Berk, we meet Hiccup and his friends (voiced by the likes of Kristen Wiig, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Jonah Hill) who have been rescuing as many dragons as they possibly can since we last saw them in part two in 2014. Due to overpopulation on the island of Berk however, Hiccup hatches a plan to find “The Hidden World” to house all of the overflow that are joining the island, and restore peace to the Viking settlement.

It’s a joy to watch, and you will be in awe of the colours nearly popping out of the cinema screen.

Of course, the relationship between Hiccup and Toothless the dragon is as strong as ever in this sequel, making us desperately wish all over again that dragons existed (and they acted like the ones on display here, and less like Daenerys Targaryen’s spawn from ‘Game of Thrones’). Their human-dragon bond has always been one of the best parts attributed with the ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ series, and it is tested here more than ever when Toothless the Night Fury, discovers one of his kind, a Light Fury.

Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

The visuals of ‘How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ are as impressive as always, and everyone will enjoy the colourful world our heroes fly past while on the backs of their dragon companions. It’s a joy to watch, and you will be in awe of the colours nearly popping out of the cinema screen.

Although not as exciting as the previous two entries, ‘How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ is still a very enjoyable ride for all of the family. While seeing our heroes grow up before our eyes feels a little jarring, it’s still a memorable adventure that you and your little ones will appreciate.
