Belle 

A beautiful French name meaning beautiful but most commonly known for its appearance in Beauty and the Beast. Belle is a non-conforming daughter of an eccentric inventor who falls deeply in love with a beast. 

Daria

A Persian name meaning 'rich' that features in the iconic movie The Princess and The Pea, a much-loved fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen. In the 2002 film, Daria is a brightly beautiful, brave and witty character. The alternative spelling in Dariya. 

Alice 

A French name meaning noble but also the main character in Charles Lutwidge Dodgson's Alice's Adventure in Wonderland. The Disney film is based on a young girl called Alice, who falls through a hole in the ground into a fantasy world full of peculiar creatures. 

Nala 

In African, Nala means 'queen', and after you watch The Lion King, you will see those words come to life. Nala is a fictional lioness who marries Simba but, unfortunately, she was never officially crowned a Disney princess because she is an animal, but we see different.

Merida 

Believed to be a possible form of the Celtic name, Mairead, meaning 'pearl'. As a name not currently ranked on any popularity lists, it would make the perfect baby girl name due to its uniqueness and of course, after the feisty character in Brave

Aurora 

Aurora is a mythical name of Latin origin meaning 'goddess of dawn' but also the main character in the Disney classic, Sleeping Beauty. However, scientifically speaking, Aurora Borealis, otherwise known as the Northern Lights is an incredible naturally occurring phenomenons to grace this planet. 

Jasmine 

A sweet but subtle Persian name that comes from the highly fragranced jasmine flower and of course, the fictional character in the Walt Disney movie, Aladdin who has grown weary of her life of palace confinement. 

Ariel 

The unisex name is from Disney's The Little Mermaid meaning 'lion of God'. In the much-loved movie, Ariel has a passion for adventure, discovery and longs to be part of the human world, and she is the youngest daughter of King Triton and Queen Athena.

Elsa 

The meaning of the name Elsa is 'noble; joyful; God is my oath', and it is a shortened form of the biblical name Elizabeth. She appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen and its sequel Frozen II which has helped the name rise in popularity over recent years. 

Leia 

In English, the name is spelt, Leah. Its origin in Hebrew means 'weary'; however, in Latin, it translates to 'lioness'. Princess Leia features as a fearless main character in the series of Star Wars movies.
