Many a time have we alternated between wishing for a cupcake and wishing for an iced drink with lots of vodka - why not have both?

Baking with booze makes the whole process a hell of a lot more fun!

Not only does baking with booze make the whole process a hell of a lot more fun (Step 1: Pour yourself a cocktail!), but it also enhances the flavours.

Time needed: 35 minutes.


  1. Preheat the oven.

    Preheat oven to 180 c degrees. Line a muffin pan with liners.

  2. Add cream, butter, sugar to a mixing bowl and beat the eggs.

    In the mixing bowl of your stand mixer add cream, butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time.

  3. Add lemon peel and vanilla.

    Add lemon peel and vanilla; mix well

  4. Mix dry ingredients.

    Mix dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream (batter will be thick).

  5. Fill cupcake liners and bake.

    Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the centre comes out clean.

  6. Cool for 10 minutes.

    Cool for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
