Planning A Summer Holiday? Here's How To Get The Most For Your Money

The weekend is busy, but if you prepare for this you should be able to get to who you want to see.

While it may be some people’s idea of hell, over 40,000 people travel annually from all over the country to bag themselves a bargain at the highly anticipated Holiday World Show.
Every year exhibitors flock from home and abroad to bring their products and services to the Irish consumer. You will find anything from holidays here in Ireland to tailor-made bucket list adventures.
The great thing about the show is that you can speak to a vast array of experts about a range of destinations and holiday types all under one roof. But remember, it’s not all about the offers...
The weekend is busy, but if you prepare for this you should be able to get to who you want to see. If you want to see a specific speaker, go to them a little early. Apart from that, there is entertainment, a kids’ zone, demonstrations, food and drink samples and don’t forget to enter all the exhibitor competitions – you never know it might just be your lucky weekend!
Three reasons to spend the day at the Holiday World Show.
Reason 1:  Exclusive offers
Yes, they do exist. If they are not obvious, ask! Most exhibitors want your business. Don’t be afraid to ask them what’s in it for you? Be prepared for exclusive offers that may not be available at other times in the year. Most holidays will be bookable on the day, so make sure you have your deposits in the bank and passport names at the ready. Travelling with a family can be pricey, look for free child place offers, exclusive discounts on the day and holidays that will bring your costs down overall.
Reason 2:  Ask the experts
Where else are you going to get so many experts in their field under the one roof? Don’t be shy, ask for some inspiration. Go to exhibitors who are family friendly, who will give you guidance as to where is suitable for families and what is good value this year. Attend one of the talks if you want to hear about future trends or hear about a specific destination.
Do a little research, go in with a couple of ideas in mind and check the website to see where these areas will be represented. For example, if you want a holiday to the USA you will find that this year boasts the largest USA area with holidays from family theme park adventures to epic fly drives. The format is changing slightly this year which will make it a little easier to find specific destinations or themes all in one place.
Reason 3:  Competitions and entertainment:
You will find competitions on many exhibitors stands. It doesn’t cost anything to enter them – you may even be one of the lucky ones! There will be entertainment, food and drink samples, and if you have your little ones in toe there is always the kid’s zone to keep them amused. Keep an eye out for free tickets on the website or 2 for 1 offers.

Dublin Holiday World Show takes place from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th January.
