This hack is perfect now that we're coming into the summer months.

The hot weather means one thing for a lot of parents: the splat of ice lollies landing on the ground and a scream of terror from their kids. The joys.

We're not quite sure what it is - maybe it's their tiny hands or maybe ice lolly sticks are not exactly practical, but one thing is for sure, if you give a small child an ice cream, there's a 99% chance it will end up on the floor.

This mum clearly grew tired of cleaning up sticky ice cream stains and devised this genius hack for helping her kids to get a better grip on their ice lolly sticks.

To solve this seemingly inevitable summer-time problem for parents everywhere, she simply attached a sandwich bag clip to the bottom of the lollipop stick. This makes the ice creams much easier to hold, meaning less mess and toddler tears in the long run.

According to The Sun, the hack was posted in the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK. She wrote:

"For all those with children who are at an age where holding an ice lolly stick is difficult. Use a sandwich bag clip on the stick... allows them to grip with both hands. Prevents tears from dropped lollys [sic]."

Other parents were quick to comment on this mums genius invention.

One wrote:

"Fab! Pop a cupcake case under lolly for wen [sic] it melts ."

While others called the hack "genius" and "game-changing".

We love this one! Will you be giving this ice lolly hack a go?
