We love having healthy snacks to hand and hummus works brilliantly in this way. The chickpeas give it great filling power as they are packed with protein. This is especially helpful for children who do not have a love of meat (or for vegetarian families). It can be served in a variety of different ways too. Why not substitute your regular butter or mayonnaise for a much healthier hummus spread alternative? It works really well as a dinner condiment too. Salmon, roast vegetables and a big dollop of hummus is a favourite in our house!
