A gorgeous meditation designed to assist in reducing anxiety women may be feeling in pregnancy.

Pregnancy, as lovely as it is, is a life altering event for any woman so it's understandable it may come with some anxiety, particularly for new mothers. This meditation from pregnancy yoga teacher Lia Carr is here to help calm your mind and get yourself mentally prepared for what lies ahead.

"Prenatal yoga and meditation are a multifaceted approach to exercise of the body and mind", Lia says. "This meditation is designed to assist in reducing anxiety pregnant women may be feeling given the current situation and the complexities relating to child birth and antenatal appointments that come with it. It focuses on grounding, centring and connecting with your baby.

"This inward practice of yoga and meditation encourages stretching, mental clarity, focused breathing and relaxation. Prenatal yoga and meditation will also help you to prepare for child birth and promote connections with other pregnant women."

Prenatal yoga and meditation can:

·         Improve sleep
·         Reduce stress and anxiety
·         Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth
·         Decrease lower back pain, nausea, headaches and shortness of breath
·         Helps you to feel prepared for delivery.

Lia describes her teaching style as very focused on self-care and centres strongly on nurturing you and your baby while on our mats.

"I hope you enjoy it and that it brings some calm," Lia says. "Just know that you are doing great in these strange circumstances while living through a pandemic and also growing a human."
