It’s that time of year again. If your child is in pre-school or primary school then things are likely to be wrapping up for another year. You may want to pick up a thoughtful gift idea without breaking the bank – particularly if you have several gifts to buy when you consider multiple children and or extra learning support teachers and assistants. 
A gesture of thanks is important to you. After all, these are the people who care for and help you raise your beautiful children. They have a difficult job and some of them, in your opinion, have the patience of a saint. 
Here are some thoughtful but inexpensive gift ideas that just might work for you
  • A nice tub of fancy hand-pump soap. Attach to it a cardboard cut out of your child’s hand and on it write “hands down, you are the best teacher ever”. Simple, cute, personal and practical. Everyone needs soap.
  • A €5 voucher for the local Costa/Starbucks and a nice card. It doesn’t have to be expensive or fancy. They’ll think of you when they order the fancy cappuccino they usually can't justify the price of.
  • A small plant and a card that references the fact that the teacher has helped your kid “grow” this year. Chances are they will have a lot more time to enjoy gardening this summer and it’s a really personal gift too.
  • A bath bomb. Everyone loves a bath bomb. You can even include a line about your kid thinking their teacher is “da bomb”. You’ll shudder writing it but they will love it.
  • A mini bottle of Prosecco and a funny note regarding the fact that your child may be the very reason they might enjoy it. It’s a bit cheeky and will nearly always go down well.
  • Put that WhatsApp group to good use and suggest a pooling together. It all adds up and a decent voucher amount will be a very welcomed gift.
  • A scratch card or lotto ticket. Bonus points for throwing in a corny line about your children having a lotto love for them.
  • Do you bake? A little jar of home-made cookies or treats is a sure fire way of them never forgetting you or your kids. Put those skills to good use and pick up a cute jar in Tiger for as little as one euro.
