From unwelcome judgments to unsolicited advice, here's come of the things this mum wished she hadn't heard from Grandma or Grandpa.

Grandparents whether your own parents or the in laws always mean well but sometimes their help can wind us up rather than help us unwind.
Here are the responses we’d love to give to some of their remarks:

‘Is that what you’re giving them for dinner??’
Trust us when we say they have a varied diet

‘Their teeth will rot eating that rubbish!’
Even though they were the ones that bought them a chocolate bar that morning.

‘You certainly dress him/her in a unique way’
It’s called fashion

‘Have you booked him/her in for a haircut?’
Ah stop, I love his/her baby curls.

‘They’ve certainly got a lot of energy’
If they’re too much work please just tell us, we understand

‘Is it safe for them to be climbing on that?’
Yes it’s safe, climbing frames are built to be climbed on

‘Put him/her outside they need the fresh air’
Urm with the gale outside would blow them away

‘They’ll be square eyed with the amount of TV they watch’
It's an hour a day- don't think it will 'right angle' their eyes

‘Are they still not sleeping through the night?’
Tonight, they have a cough that’s waking them every hour, so it's hard for them to sleep through.
"That's not how I used to do that."
Well, it's how I do it!
Are you still breastfeeding? Don't you think he's a little old for that?
He's 6 months old, not 6 years old!
I don't know how you do it, working these long hours. The kids must miss you so much.
I just love heading out to work and leaving my babies, I mean it's a hobby really (Not!)
All these allergies you're worried about – are you sure they're real alergies and not some made up word?
Yes, because strawberries are supposed to turn you red (just like them) when you eat one! Totally normal!
And our all time favourite:
Don't be so stressed. It's okay to relax the rules a little bit when Granny's here!
No response!
