There are so many good (and bad) things to look forward to as your child develops, some of which will stress a few parents out. There are loads of the best moments but, unfortunately, there will be the worst moments too, but it is normal.
In preparation for new parents, here are some of the things you can look forward to.
Wee everywhere – The joys of parenting are when your baby wees absolutely all over the place and you find yourself wiping it up. Of course, as any seasoned parent will know this is not the worst thing to happen. In fact, the poo is worse especially when it literally explodes out of your baby’s nappy. Then there is the fun of potty training which depending on your child can be not so bad or absolute hell!
Crying and screaming – Yes, unless you are extremely lucky your child may be screaming all through the night or crying during the day. It is tiring and stressful, but it is part and parcel of the parenting process. You nearly need to earn your stripes by having a tricky baby!
Tantrums - Once your child gets older you will consider the crying and screaming behind you but (spoiler alert) it isn’t! Your child will have tantrums and they will be quite bad at times. Even as teenagers, your child can still cause ructions so expect it and try and wave out these stormy times.
Stress – You will get stressed, you will feel lonely and you will think you are struggling sometimes. It is a big test when parenting and it will test your relationship with your partner too. It will be hard, it will be tiring and it will be an anxious time but there is so much good to look forward to too.
Love – And now we are on to the best moments, the ones that fill your heart with love. Your child will adore you from the moment they are born. They’ll link your finger and it will be instantly obvious that you guys are going to be fine. Love is the best thing about parenting, and it will be amazing watching your child grow and become an incredible human.
Giggles – Did we mention how funny kids are? Oh, they are a blast and they will keep you on your toes! You will laugh every day while raising kids. There will be moments of silliness and as your child grows into a toddler, they will be entertaining!
Pride – Yes, your child will make you proud every single day but when they start school and become little people, you will be so pleased. You will nearly cry at their first play, their first match or their first test for example. Then, as they grow older and become teenagers, they will give you another sense of pride as you watch them grow into adults. They will pass exams, achieve their dreams and do amazing things regularly.
It is great to watch them develop.
