As most mums will know, giving birth is incredibly tough both mentally and physically. So imagine how this mum feels after welcoming six children in an incredibly short space of time!
Earlier this month, Thelma Chiaka welcomed sextuplets, the odds of which are one in 4.7 billion.
However, that’s not the most astonishing part! All of Thelma’s six children arrived within nine minutes. That’s six children in less time it takes for an average person to take a shower.
According to The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, the sextuplets - two sets of twin boys and one set of twin girls - were born between 4:50 and 4:59am.
The babies ranged in weight from 1lb 12” to 2lbs 14 and are all currently in the hospital’s NICU where they are said to be in a stable condition.
The girls have been given the names Zina and Zuriel while the boys have yet to be named.
The hospital shared the update on their Facebook page where people were quick to offer their congratulations to the new mum and share their own experiences.
“Congratulations to the Chiaka family and to your clinical team! We had the honour of delivering sextuplets in December 2017, and just a few weeks ago our staff held a special reunion with the family. It's been an amazing experience for everyone involved,” posted one.
