The cinemas are back! If you and your family are looking for some brilliant titles to watch on the big screen, here's what Irish cinemas are offering up this June.

The smell of the popcorn, the choosing of the best seats in the house, and the thrill of it all is finally here once again - the cinemas are open! And there are some rather exciting family movies in Irish cinemas right now.

As always, be sure to check your local cinema to see which movies they are playing, and how restricted each screen will be. Nobody wants disappointed children - remember to book as early as possible!

Here are the family movies available to watch in cinemas this June.

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway

Peter Rabbit is back for a sequel movie that promises to be as mad as... well, a mischievous rabbit that can talk! This coming-of-age tale will see the lovable rogue find himself out in the world as he figures out what kind of bunny he wants to be. Expect lots of comedy the little ones will love.

Cruella

One for the slightly older members of the family, Disney's Cruella sees Emma Stone tackle the origin story of one of the most dastardly Disney villains of all time. The comedy/action film is set in London in the 1970s, so expect lots of stunning outfits, toe-tapping jams, and a rather exciting story to unfold.

Wolfwalkers

If you missed Cartoon Saloon's breathtaking animation movie at the end of 2020, or maybe you just want to see it all again, now is the perfect opportunity to see it on the big screen one final time. Full of magic, wonder, and mystery, we join a young apprentice hunter, Robyn, who discovers an enchanted world hidden in the forbidden lands outside of town.

Tom and Jerry: The Movie

After 80 years on our screens, the original cat and mouse duo are looking more modern than ever - and they've brought some big celebrities along with them. Blending live-action with animation, the movie sees the pair work together in order to save the day in a hotel in New York City where anything and everything seems to happen.

Raya and the Last Dragon

Finally, Disney Animation's latest offering is hitting theatres for those who don't have a Disney+ subscription. The action-packed adventure follows the story of a young woman who is looking to awaken a sleeping dragon in order to rid her world of horrible evil. Raya and the Last Dragon has something for everyone with plenty of comedy, cute animation, and an intense storyline.
