It’s certainly no secret that the winter can wreak havoc on our skin.

This can be especially true if you or your baby suffers from a skin condition such as eczema. Ahead of Eczema Awareness Week (15th -22nd of September 2019) AVEENO® Baby has released its new research, which reveals that 61% of those who have a child with a skin condition claim that their child’s irritated skin flares up at least once a week. A further 11% claimed that their child’s flare up could last up 5-7 days.

This research shows that Eczema is an issue which many parents and children are dealing with.  According to the study, eczema can be exasperated by certain laundry detergents, stress factors and high pollen count, meaning the condition affects the daily lives of many families.

In order to combat this, AVEENO® Baby have released AVEENO® Baby Dermexa which cleanses, soothes, moisturizes and helps protect against very dry, itchy skin. The Dermexa products are also suitable for little ones prone to eczema.

Commenting on the research, Paula Moriarty, Children’s Nurse and Professional Skincare Consultant for AVEENO® Baby, says: “Skin conditions such as dry and irritated skin, sensitive skin and eczema can be a stressful experience for parents and children. However, it is great to see that two thirds (67%) of parents we surveyed who have children with eczema are aware of the benefits of using topical emollients and we know that parents who have children with skin conditions are well-informed, with 65% stating they can differentiate between eczema and the likes of dry or irritated skin.”

AVEENO® Baby is a brand which has been trusted by parents for a long time, and this new range will prove to be no different. The new AVEENO® Baby Dermexa is available in pharmacy’s nationwide.
