7 Fun Activities Your Teenager Will Actually Enjoy

Feel like you are stuck in a rut when it comes to days out with your teen? Here are some of our favourite fun-filled and action-packed days out.

We know how tricky teenagers can be, sure we've all been there.
Trying to drag them away from their friends or Fortnite can be draining but fear not.
If you feel like you are stuck in a rut when it comes to days out with your teen here are some of our favourite fun-filled and action-packed days out that will have them begging for more.
1. Explorium, Dublin
Located in Sandyford, Ireland’s first sport and science centre opened its doors earlier this year to inspire curious minds and to discover the wonders of science through sport.  The newest and hottest family day out includes over 300 experiences such as the world’s largest manmade indoor caving structure, a movie world, live demonstrations and interactive science and STEM experiences. Booking is highly advised.
2. Jump Zone, Dublin
With numerous locations across Dublin, Jump Zone is the ultimate cutting-edge trampolining experience. With over 45 interconnected trampolines, a basketball zone and dodgeball zone your teen will be zonked before their bedtime and will be begging for more.
3. Dublin Climbing Centre
Located just minutes from The Square Shopping Centre in Tallaght, the Dublin Climbing Centre offers a state-of-the-art climbing facility suitable for all levels of climbing ability including a discounted beginners evening. With 1,200 square meters of lead and a top rope wall, it is Ireland's largest indoor climbing centre and bouldering gym making it an ideal activity for the whole family.
4. Glengowla Mines, Galway
Looking for something a little more adventurous with your teenager then Glengowla Mines offer a unique experience if your teenager is a bit more outdoorsy when it comes to days out. Buried beneath the Connemara mountain explore a life long abandoned with a guided tour of the mine and the artefact filled museum. Also home to a working farm, you can see sheepdog demonstrations and turf cutting at certain times of the year.
5. Clara Lara, Wicklow
Clara Lara is one of Ireland's best and longest-running outdoor adventure water parks, situated on 30 acres of scenic countryside in the Avonmore River Valley. Teens will be thrilled with the numerous activities on offer including water slides, rope bridges, rowing boats, Amphicats, rafts, Tarzan swings, go-carts, mini golf and canoes just to name a few. Clara Lara Funpark is a seasonal attraction opening from June to August and on weekends throughout the month of May.
6. Go Quest,  Dublin
Located in Finglas, GoQuest is a purpose-built arena with 28 unique challenge rooms aimed to test physical and mental skills. When participants enter each room they have a limited amount of time to try and solve a challenge. If they fail they can re-try or move on to another themed challenge zone. Sessions last 2 hours and teams can be made up of 3 to 5 people.
7. Tayto Park, Meath
Ireland's only theme park is set across 55 acres of Meath farmland and is home to Europe's only wooden rollercoaster The Cú Chulainn Coaster. With more than 100 attractions including The Rotator which soars 31 metres into the sky and the Viking Voyage, an incredible water adventure ride there is a heap of exhilarating experiences to keep your teen in the good books this summer.
And of course, never rule out a trip to see the latest blockbuster, a trip to your local bowling alley or maybe even pay a visit to your local museum. We love Epic The Irish Emigration Museum, GPO Witness History Visitor Centre, Kilmainham Gaol and Glasnevin Cemetery.
