5 lunch box ideas i'm going to try this term

I'm totally over the ham sandwich

It's official, the lunch box fillers are officially at a special price. You know what that means right? The kids are soon to be back in school and the lunch-box is making a comeback. The summer is winding down and the dinner table is full of school chat. The latest school-bag craze, the hair-style that your daughter simply has to perfect before September – not to mention stationary. Sure you all love stationary.
Maybe you are vowing that this will be the year that you shake things up with the lunch-boxes. Perhaps you want the kids to broaden their horizons or maybe it's to break the monotony of it all.
Here are some lunch-box ideas that might inspire you this term!
Fritata
Or crust less quiche. Basically egg with whatever is left in the fridge. It's ready in minutes and enjoyed hot or cold. It could be a weekly thing that you do the night before the food shop. Throw the odds and ends of the fridge in to a pie dish and top with your egg mixture. This one is also handy for breakfast or a snack on the go for us parents.
Wraps with dinner leftover
You know the end of that roast chicken you made last night? And the end of the jar of pesto from the night before? Add it together and toast it on a wrap with some cheese. Fab and can be made at dinner time while you're waiting for everything to cook.
Healthy banana bread
This is a whole lot easier to make than I ever thought. Many recipes have no refined sugar and the nuts can be avoided completely too. A healthy sweet tasting bread that can be packed with healthy oats and seeds too.
Home-made sausage rolls
These look super fancy and impressive (it's the sesame seeds, I'm convinced) but these are actually really easy to make and the kids can get involved too. Tasty hot or cold too!
Ham Roll Ups
Perhaps your child is not a bread lover? Or maybe you've run out of bread and are in a panic. A slice of lean ham can do the very same thing. Fill with some cheese and roll up the slice of ham. You can also add sliced egg, tomato or anything your child enjoys.
