Creamy Potato Gratin

 
This creamy delicious rich dish can be used as an accompaniment for most main courses.

Ingredients:
  • 800g white potatoes
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan
  • ¼ cup grated gruyere cheese
 
Method:
  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Grease a baking dish about 8 inches square with the butter.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the cream, salt, pepper & nutmeg. Using about a quarter of the potato slices spread a layer of potato slices onto the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Cover the potatoes with ½ cup of the cream mixture. Repeat until the top of the dish.
  • Sprinkle the two cheeses over the top.
 
To Serve:

Simply place the bowl in the middle of the table and let everyone tuck in!
