Free Easter Events Perfect For The Whole Family

I have looked high and low for some of the best FREE Easter events to help plan your days more wisely.

Keeping the kids occupied over any midterm can be costly but the long two-week Easter break seems to be one that blows the budget time and time again! With that in mind, I have looked high and low for some of the best FREE Easter events to help plan your days more wisely.
The Liffey Valley Easter Emporium, Dublin
The Liffey Valley Easter Emporium opens its doors at Liffey Valley on Wednesday 17 April until Saturday 20 April, from 12-4pm each day. Customers will be brought through a sensory experience learning all about how chocolate is made from cocoa beans to Easter egg! And as an added bonus, kids will get an opportunity to design and personalise an Easter egg label to take home with their very own free Butlers Chocolates Easter Egg.
Athlone Towncentre, Westmeath
Athlone Towncentre has a great line up of fun and free kids activities to keep the kids busy over the school holidays with free face-painting, balloon modelling, egg hunts and more. Or pop by on Saturday, April 20th, when the Easter bunny will be making a special appearance giving out yummy chocolate treats to his little friends.
Powerscourt Estate, Wicklow
Stonebrook Farm will be setting up camp at Powerscourt on Sunday, April 21st and Monday, April 22nd between 2pm and 4pm where families can meet all their favourite farm animals for free and enjoy the beautiful setting of Powerscourt Garden Pavillion. Kids will get a unique opportunity to bottle feed pet lambs, cuddle baby chicks and see other farmyard favourites such as bunnies, goats, hamsters and even tortoises.
Lough Key Forest Park & Activity Park, Roscommon
Lough Key Forest Park boasts an extensive list of activities to keep the boredom at bay this midterm, however, on Monday, April 22nd between 1pm and 5pm there is a heap of free entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. The full line-up includes balloon modelling, face painting, puppets, a bubble disco, colouring competitions, party games and the Easter Bunny will be giving out treats throughout the action-packed day.

Seal Rescue Ireland, Wexford
Not exactly Easter themed but with Earth Week in full swing, the non-for-profit Seal Rescue Centre has a week of awesome workshops planned at their Courtown sanctuary all based on sustainable living and environmental care. Workshops will explore recycling, upcycling and how to start going plastic-free while also teaching both young and old the importance of pollinators, why we need them and how to build bug habitats not just for birds, butterflies or bees.
  • Tuesday 16th - Recycling Eco Bricks
  • Wednesday 17th - Planting a Butterfly Garden
  • Thursday 18th - Hotel for Bugs
  • Friday 19th - Big Beach Clean
If you know of any other free Easter events taken place over the coming days be sure to let us know.
Also, don't forget to check your local library and museum because chances are they have a list as long as your elbow of things to do for free over the coming days.
