We're looking for a great Content Manager (Parenting)

Reports to: Chief Content Officer
Job Description: The content manager will lead, manage and develop all content for our parenting website.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record as an effective manager and leader of people. You should be a digital junkie, someone who is deeply immersed in the latest digital trends who can develop and implement content strategies that will drive audience growth and engagement. You will be excellent at digital story-telling, identifying new digital innovation opportunities and a champion of data to drive content creation to achieve digital audience targets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with the team to conceive and execute cutting-edge content online that engages with audiences
  • Generate story ideas for content (editorial, video, podcast, social) and work with the team to build out monthly content calendars
  • Develop an exciting video and podcast strategy for parenting from ideation and creation right through to distribution
  • Carry out SEO audits and craft SEO strategies to ensure maximum audience reach
  • Develop social strategy to promote our parenting brand on FB, IG, Twitter and Snapchat
  • Pitch and execute forward-thinking stories including original video concepts, that ensure our website leads the way in the parenting space
  • Effectively manage budget and freelance contributors
  • Daily monitoring of web analytics such as Google Analytics and to ensure a detailed knowledge of audience response and engagement at all times
  • Identify the best content to push at key traffic spikes to drive engagement by interpreting audience data
  • Identify and develop top writers and contributors to increase the variety and depth of content on our website
  • Work with Chief Content Officer to ensure team meets monthly production and traffic goals
  • Work closely with partnering brands to help strengthen relationships and create the most innovative brand work in the business
  • Represent our brand at industry events, panels, and applicable press trips
  • Ensure that all content is of the highest quality and in keeping with brand tone and value
  • Create 30, 60 and 90 content plans to achieve prominent Google rankings
  • Provide CEO and board with regular updates on analytics and content performance
  • Identify exciting partnerships to expand the audience and content reach
  • Train and develop staff
  • Proven track record as an effective content manager
  • Degree in Journalism, Digital Media or an equivalent
  • Experience in using a variety of digital journalism tools and content management systems
  • Data analytics –Google Analytics,, Omniture
  • Social Media content and audience building
  • SEO knowledge and best practice
  • Experienced in digital video creation
  • Expertise in mobile (apps and native web)
  • Exceptional and persuasive communication and presentation skills (written/verbal)
  • Excellent forward planning skills
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to adapt and be flexible in task and role
  • Ability to work to a deadline
  • Ability to effectively manage budgets
  • Demonstrate passion for creating new processes and solutions 
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required
